Earlier this year we announced that we plan to have a Coolbet Open in November 2021 if the Covid-19 pandemic would allow us.
With around 2½ months before the event on 8-14 November, we would like to provide our players with an update for the outlook of the event.
As it looks right now, Coolbet Open November 2021 will go ahead on the planned dates at our usual location, Olympic Casino/Hilton Tallinn Park in Estonia.
The current restrictions in Estonia allow indoor events to go ahead and we believe that this will also be allowed in November. Indoor events are however limited to people who can present a valid coronavirus certificate (such as the EU Digital Covid Certificate). The certificate will show if a person has completed the vaccination process against coronavirus, recovered from covid-19 during the past 180 days or has recently tested negative. This certificate you would need to present when you enter the casino.
For players coming from outside Estonia it is also very likely that by November you will either have to have completed the vaccination process or be recovered from covid-19 during the past 180 days in order to travel freely to and from Estonia. If you are not vaccinated, then you might have to be in quarantine depending on the status in your home country. You can read more about the travel restrictions from the Estonian Foreign Ministry website here.
To sum up:
- If you have completed the vaccination process or have recovered from covid-19 during the past 180 days, then you would need to present a coronavirus certificate upon entry to the casino where Coolbet Open is played.
- If you are soon to get vaccinated, then make sure to be fully vaccinated at least 15 days (7 days if you will get the Pfizer vaccine) before you come to the event so your covid certificate is valid.
- If you do not want to get vaccinated, then you can get a valid coronavirus certificate upon a negative test. If you travel from abroad, you might have to be in quarantine when you arrive or when you travel back.
We understand that this is good news for some and bad news for others. If you have won a package or buy-in to Coolbet Open in November and you are unsure if you can come because of these restrictions, please contact us to transfer the prize to a later event.
All package and buy-in winners will be contacted during the coming weeks in order to confirm their participation.
It is hard to predict how the Covid-19 situation will be in November and the past years have shown that planning events is very difficult. So we would like to emphasize that there is still a risk that we would need to cancel or postpone the event.
The tournament schedule for the Coolbet Open in November will be published next week.
