Friday at the 2026 Coolbet Open was historic. The €550 Main Event shattered the all-time Coolbet Open attendance record, the €1,100 NLH High Roller set its own record field, and the €150 Ladies Event produced the biggest entry count in the event's history.
The house was packed, the energy in the room was exactly what a festival record-breaking day should feel like, and three chip leaders bagged overnight stacks to carry into Saturday's final days. John Blomberg of Finland leads 54 survivors heading into the €550 Main Event Final Day, Germany's Martin Zobel leads 11 players in the High Roller, and Portugal's Manuel Lopes leads 13 in the PLO4/5 Mystery Bounty. Netherlands' Paula Ensink won the €150 Ladies Event.
The 1998 World Series of Poker Main Event Champion Scotty Nguyen, who is in Europe for three months on a tour with Teddy.poker, also entered the action of the Main Event on Day 2 to much fanfare but was unable to make the money.

John Blomberg Leads Final 54 in Record-Breaking €550 Main Event
The all-time Coolbet Open Main Event entry record has been broken. The 2022 edition at this same venue drew 652 entries, a number that stood as the benchmark for four years. The 2026 edition has now surpassed it with 753 entries, generating a massive €357,675 prize pool. Day 2 ran deep into the money with the top 95 players each earning at least €1,120, more than double their buy-in. At the end of the day, 54 players bagged their chips with all of them locked into a minimum cash of €5,450 and the top prize of €65,415 waiting at the end of a Final Day that begins Saturday at 12:00 noon with blinds at 10,000/15,000 (15,000 ante) and increasing every 40 minutes until a champion is crowned.
Finland's John Blomberg leads the way with 1,570,000 chips (104 big blinds), a substantial advantage over Norway's Oystein Stai in second with 1,090,000. American Xavier Lyu sits third with 765,000. The defending champion Guillermo "GGordo" Cifuentes of Spain, who won the 2025 Coolbet Open Main Event, is still in the hunt in 48th position with 180,000 chips. The €1,100 NLH High Roller set its own record at the 2026 Coolbet Open with 97 entries generating a €92,150 prize pool. Martin Zobel is well known to anyone who plays regularly at Olympic Park Casino. The German who has made Estonia his home is a constant presence at the tables here and he showed why on Friday, bagging the overnight chip lead with 1,170,000 chips (97 big blinds), a commanding advantage over second-placed France's Paul Le Cheviller with 526,000. All 11 remaining players are in the money with a minimum guaranteed cash of €2,410. The winner earns €27,070. The High Roller Final Day plays out on Saturday alongside the Main Event.

Lopes is a familiar face at Olympic Park Casino and has made the trip to Tallinn many times over the years, though it has been a while since his last visit. He is clearly back in form. The 104-entry field produced a €15,028 prize pool and all 13 remaining players have secured their minimum cash of €330. Mystery bounty prizes range from €300 to €4,000, with the overall winner taking home €4,000 on top of their prize pool money.

Saturday at the 2026 Coolbet Open
Saturday is the biggest day of the ninth Coolbet Open. The €550 Main Event Final Day begins at 12:00 noon with 54 players returning and a €65,415 top prize waiting at the end. The live stream begins on the Coolbet Open social media channels when 24 players remain. The High Roller Final Day, the PLO4/5 Mystery Bounty Final Day, and the €1,100 NLH DeepStack Final Day all also play out on Saturday, making it the day when four champions are crowned.
The €200 Open-Face Chinese Pineapple begins at 13:00 and the €350 NLH Deepstack with Added Prizes fires at 15:00 as the first side events on the biggest day of the festival. The €250 PLO4/5/6 Progressive Bounty commences at 18:00 and Sycksbe's Hyper Turbo closes the night at 22:30. Sunday brings the final €200 Coolbet Closer Hyper Turbo at the Hilton with a Gold and Poker Tournament in between at 9 p.m., giving players one last chance to gather before the ninth edition closes its doors and everyone says their goodbyes until next time.
