Yosef Snags Lead on Day 1c of CBO Main Event
Israeli’s Yehuda Yosef is off to one of the hottest starts in Coolbet Open history after catapulting his 30,000 opening stack into a massive pile of 861,000 on Thursday’s Day 1c of the 2023 Coobet Open Bratislava €550 Main Event at Banco Casino. This is more than double the 407,000 in chips held by his nearest competitor in Day 1a chip leader Jacob Melloul.
The Main Event boasts a whopping €300,000 guarantee with plenty of action thanks to the six opening flights including two more to come on Friday at 12 p.m. with 45-minute blind levels and 9 p.m. with faster 15-minute blind levels. Players can re-enter until their hearts are content during the first 12 blind levels of each opening flight level. Those surviving 14 blind levels will battle it out for two more days with longer one-hour blind levels until a winner is crowned.
Day 1c attracted a banner crowd of 169 entries with 23 survivors with Maged Aziz (390,000), Gunter Jakwerth (375,000), Daniel Shaker (270,000), and Eden Elbaz (269,000).
Coolbet streamer Oskar Wedde also cracked into the overall top 10 in chip counts after ending Day 1c with 256,000, while the formidable Manuel Blaschke also managed a big day with 245,000.
Another 42 entries joined the mix with 14 survivors on Thursday evening’s turbo Day 1d bringing the total Main Event field up to 345 entries with 61 players surviving. Similar to Wednesday’s turbo Day 1b, no big stacks emerged with Slovakia’s Peter Zolnai advancing into Day 2 with 185,000.
